Base hospital, Homagama is the only dedicated Covid 19 treatment center with dialysis facilities for patients with kidney failure and Covid 19. The hospital functions with only three hemodialysis machines which is barely enough to meet the demand of the entire country. In addition most patients who are critically ill cannot be mobilized to the dialysis unit to have their treatments.
“Api foundation” join hands with Dr. Chathurika Beligaswatta (Consultant Nephrologist-BH Homagama) to raise funds to purchase a portable dialysis machine which can be mobilized to wards and the ICU, which is a need of the hour.
The estimated project cost is 2.2 million rupees. ( Machine and the portable RO water system)
