Distributing essential ration packs amongst families affected by the current economic crisis in Sri Lanka.
As Sri Lanka is facing its worst economic crisis since independence, according to Hanke’s inflation score, the country has reached the top 2 positions in the rank with the current inflation rate surpassing 33%. With food inflation crossing 45% as of the month of April, the majority of the masses are impacted by the low affordability of essential food.

The struggle of many women due to social stigma around menstrual health is widely discussed and published. However much remains to be done.
Therefore, Api Foundation has decided to address this very important problem and provide support to in-need.

Supporting underprivileged rural families during Sinhala – Tamil New Year 2022
Api-Nagam is an annual event done by Api Foundation in the month of April aiming to support rural low-income families with dry rations and food packs. The project is done with the purpose to aid the underprivileged community allowing them to celebrate the Sinhala-Tamil New year as everyone else in the country.

Donation of Phone Devices to Help Online Education for Less-Benefitted Children
The objective of the project is, to donate 16 smart mobile phones for the most needed selection of Maddegama Central College situated in Kirindiwela-Gampaha who have missed their school lessons throughout due to unavailability of at least a phone device.

After the successful completion, with the immense contribution of our donors on the project “Let’s gift a Life” to donate a portable dialysis machine to Infectious disease hospital – Angoda (IDH), Api foundation was once again entrusted to facilitate this project spearheaded by Dr. Chathurika Beligaswatte to raise funds for the worthy cause of donating a much needed CRRT machine to Colombo East Base Hospital Mulleriyawa new town.

DONATE A PORTABLE DIALYSIS MACHINE
Base hospital, Homagama is the only dedicated Covid 19 treatment center with dialysis facilities for patients with kidney failure and Covid 19. The hospital functions with only three hemodialysis machines which is barely enough to meet the demand of the entire country. In addition most patients who are critically ill cannot be mobilized to the dialysis unit to have their treatments.

Many surveys have proven the prevalence of Chronic Kidney Disease of unknow etiology (CKDu) in North Western Province, widely believed to be caused by environmental contaminant water, claiming several lives within communities. Kahatagasdigiliya – Kanadara Rathmale is one such disadvantaged community either suffering from or facing the high risk of developing the disease.
